Yukon Stone Sheep

The Yukon opens for Stone sheep on July 30th, with good hunting through mid-September.  Hunts are 10 to 14 days in length, and pretty much target sheep only, although some excellent mountain caribou opportunities can be included. 

An occasional moose or grizzly is taken on these hunts as well.  Tent camps,  cabins, and backpack camps are used, depending on the type of hunting trip arranged.  In most cases, outfitters will pre-scout the area and have large rams located in advance.
