New Mexico, Colorado & Montana Elk

If you are pressed for time and need a somewhat easier hunt, this may be the best bet for you.  Many of these areas are based on working cattle ranches.  Four-wheel drives are used extensively for travel.  Expect some horseback riding, as well as plenty of walking.

In New Mexico, a series of five-day hunts are available from early September through February.  Hunt with bow, muzzleloader, or rifle.  Management goals vary from area to area.  Success runs from 50% to 95% on large bull elk, many scoring over 300 points. The higher the price, the higher the quality and success. Camps vary from fabulous lodges to cabins or tent camps.
